An Update on the MGH Project Design
Over recent months, the Murchison Green Hydrogen (MGH) Project engineering and design team has progressed a series of refinements to the Project layout.
These changes have been developed to improve environmental and Aboriginal heritage outcomes, consistent with the mitigation hierarchy and the Project’s commitment to prioritise impact avoidance wherever possible.

The revised layout has been formally lodged with environmental regulators as a proposed amendment to the referral currently being assessed under section 43A of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA) and section 156A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth).

The following table sets out the key changes to the MGH Project.
Following these changes to the Project, MGH will be updating a number of studies that feed into its Environmental Review Document (ERD), which in turn will be submitted to the environmental regulators in Q4 2026. Following submission to the regulators, the ERD will be made available for public review and comment in 2027.
