A new hydrogen Jobs Guide released today by the Murchison Green Hydrogen Project shows Western Australians wanting to work at the cutting edge of new green energy technology how to plan for their future energy careers.
The project launches its Jobs Guide ahead of the Geraldton Regional Careers Expo, a leading exhibition in the Mid West designed to connect students with industry and their future careers. The guide shares information about the jobs, skills and training needed for the project and the broader renewable energy sector, showcasing diverse employment opportunities for local students and communities.
The Murchison Green Hydrogen Project, developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is set to become one of the world’s largest producers of green hydrogen and ammonia, harnessing around 6GW of renewable energy from wind and solar resources. Located approximately 20 kilometres north of Kalbarri, the project is committed to delivering economic benefits to the region and creating local jobs.
The Murchison Green Hydrogen Project is expected to create approximately 3,600 local construction jobs and 450 permanent jobs during operations. The Jobs Guide outlines over 110 roles associated with the project and provides case studies of the qualifications and skills profiles for careers in the renewable energy sector.

Through strong partnerships with industry, including our ongoing collaboration with Murchison Green Hydrogen, we are working to align training pathways with real workforce opportunities in areas such as hydrogen, renewable energy, and associated infrastructure. Ensuring that regional communities can access relevant, job-ready training is key to maximising the long-term benefits of these projects for local people.”
